# What is RevOps?

RevOps (revenue operations) is the operations function that manages the processes, tools and data of marketing, sales and customer success teams around a single revenue goal. CRM management, lead definitions and handoff rules between teams, revenue reporting and tool integrations are usually the RevOps team's responsibility.

## In short

RevOps closes the gaps between teams at the level of tools and data: when a lead moves to sales, what counts as an opportunity and where revenue is reported from are settled in one place. For marketing, campaigns can then be judged by pipeline and revenue rather than form fills. Typical metrics include stage conversion rates, sales cycle length and forecast accuracy. For example, once marketing and sales agree on an MQL definition and use the same CRM field, their reports show the same number.

## Key points

- It manages marketing, sales and customer success around a single revenue goal.
- It sets shared definitions for MQL, SQL and opportunity, plus one source of data.
- CRM structure and data quality are typical RevOps responsibilities.
- It defines lead scoring, assignment and handoff rules between teams.
- It owns revenue reporting, forecasting and tool integrations.

## What does RevOps solve?
