HubSpot vs Salesforce:
Which CRM fits which team?

HubSpot is a CRM platform that unites marketing, sales and service on the same data and is quick to set up. Salesforce offers deep customisation and enterprise scale in exchange for more administration. Small teams that value speed lean to HubSpot; complex processes at scale lean to Salesforce.

In short

Which one for whom?

HubSpot suits small and mid-sized B2B teams that want marketing and sales on one platform, live within weeks and without a dedicated admin. Salesforce suits companies whose process needs many custom objects, complex permissions and approvals, regional teams and deep links to enterprise systems, and who can fund the people to run it.

How the two platforms think

HubSpot and Salesforce answer the same question from different starting points. HubSpot began as marketing software and built its CRM around it, so forms, email, landing pages, ad audiences and deals meet on the same record. A lead captured by marketing lands in front of sales without an extra integration.

Salesforce began as sales force automation and grew into a platform. Its strength is that a company can model its own processes almost without limit through objects, fields, flows and code. That flexibility needs someone to build and maintain it, which in most companies means a Salesforce admin or an outside implementation partner.

A practical test: if your process looks like a standard B2B sales funnel, HubSpot's ready-made structure covers most of it. If it involves a reseller network, regional price lists, multi-step approvals or industry-specific objects, Salesforce's flexibility stops being a luxury and becomes a requirement.

Price: licence cost versus total cost

List prices can look close. Both have a plan around USD 100 per user per month (HubSpot Sales Hub Professional, Salesforce Pro Suite). Other lines decide the real cost.

  • Onboarding fees: HubSpot's own pricing guide lists a one-time USD 1,500 onboarding fee for Sales Hub Professional and USD 3,500 for Enterprise. Salesforce's pricing page shows no onboarding fee, but in Salesforce projects the implementation partner is often a large share of the budget.
  • Billing term: In HubSpot Starter and Professional, monthly billing costs more than annual. Salesforce Starter Suite can be billed monthly or annually; Pro Suite and above are annual.
  • Add-ons: In HubSpot, marketing automation is a separate product (Marketing Hub). In Salesforce, AI (Agentforce), advanced forecasting, maps or incentive management come in higher editions or as separate purchases.
  • Administration: In Salesforce, ongoing admin work is the largest cost outside the licence. In HubSpot the load is lighter but not zero: fields, workflows and reports still need an owner.

Compare both platforms on total cost over at least two years: the plan you will need × users, onboarding, add-ons, integrations, data migration and training. Free plans are a good start, but decide on the plan you will need a year from now. Our guide to choosing a CRM sets out the full framework.

Ease of use and adoption

A CRM is worth the data in it. If the sales team does not use it, the most powerful platform does nothing. This is HubSpot's clearest advantage: the interface is clean, the basic setup is short and teams can find their own way in the first weeks.

Salesforce's interface has become simpler in recent years, and Starter Suite ships with ready-made flows for small teams. As the setup grows, though, page layouts, fields and permissions grow with it. Managed well, that complexity becomes a strong tool; left alone, the team drifts back to spreadsheets.

Whichever you choose, limiting required fields to what is truly needed, designing with the sales team and watching usage in the first weeks shape adoption more than the platform does.

Customisation and scale

HubSpot Enterprise adds custom objects, advanced permissions and team hierarchies, which covers most mid-sized B2B companies. The limits usually show with very complex data models, when several business units need different rules, or when the CRM has to talk deeply to an ERP or a reseller portal.

Salesforce goes further: custom objects, flows, approval processes, code and AppExchange apps can model almost any process. Core, Advanced and Max add Slack, Tableau Next, enhanced security and AI agents to the package. For large sales organisations that scope is a real advantage; for a small team it is often cost that goes unused.

Connection to marketing

In B2B, knowing where a lead came from and sending sales outcomes back to ad platforms directly affects marketing efficiency. In HubSpot, form, email and ad data already live with the CRM, so this link is quicker to build.

Salesforce can do the same. Marketing runs on Salesforce's own marketing products or third-party tools, which adds an integration and a budget line. Set up properly, both platforms let you read qualified leads and revenue by source.

Türkiye, language and KVKK

Two issues matter for teams in Türkiye: language, and where the data lives.

Language. As of October 2026, Turkish is not among the interface languages on HubSpot's language page; teams use HubSpot in English or another supported language. In Salesforce, Turkish is an "end-user language": standard object and page labels are translated, but Setup pages and help content stay in English. Factor the sales team's comfort with English into adoption.

Data location. Under HubSpot's Regional Data Hosting Policy, new customers signing up from Europe, the Middle East and Africa are hosted in Europe by default; if the order form names no location, the US applies. Salesforce lets customers choose the region where their applications run through Hyperforce; its page names the US, UK, Germany, India and Japan as examples.

KVKK. In both cases data is stored and processed outside Türkiye. Since the 2024 amendment to Article 9 of KVKK, standard contracts are one of the safeguards for cross-border transfers, and a signed standard contract must be notified to the Authority within five business days. Decide the right route with your legal counsel. In the setup we place marketing consents in the right fields and set access rights and retention periods; the legal assessment stays with your counsel.

Setup and migration

On both platforms, setup takes longer than the licence decision. Deal stages, roles, required fields and reports are designed first; then contacts, companies, deals and activities are migrated. If you are coming from another CRM, cleaning duplicates and unused fields before the move saves the most time. Automations and reports are usually rebuilt in the new system rather than copied one to one.

In HubSpot, the core setup often comes together over a few workshops with sales and marketing. In Salesforce, as scope grows, the project becomes a phased piece of work planned with an implementation partner. Either way, watching usage in the first weeks is how you spot missing fields and skipped steps early.

Which one, when?

Choose HubSpot if you have a sales and marketing team of 5–50 people, want marketing automation in the same place as the CRM, have no full-time CRM admin and need a working system within weeks.

Choose Salesforce if your sales process has many custom objects, approvals and regional rules, the CRM must integrate deeply with an ERP, reseller portal or other enterprise systems, and you have budget for an admin or implementation partner.

If you are unsure, write the process down first. Once deal stages, roles, approvals and the integration list are on paper, it usually becomes clear whose ready-made structure is enough. If Zoho is also on your list, see our HubSpot vs Zoho comparison.

Frequently asked questions

HubSpot or Salesforce for a small B2B team?

For small teams that want sales and marketing in one place, live quickly and without a dedicated admin, HubSpot is usually the more practical start. Salesforce's Starter Suite is also aimed at small teams; the real difference shows as you grow and need more customisation and administration.

Can our team use HubSpot or Salesforce in Turkish?

As of October 2026, Turkish is not among the interface languages on HubSpot's language page. In Salesforce, Turkish is an 'end-user language': standard object and page labels are translated, but Setup pages and help content stay in English.

Where is our data stored, and what does KVKK require?

HubSpot says new customers signing up from Europe, the Middle East and Africa are hosted in Europe by default. Salesforce offers region choice through Hyperforce. Either way the data sits outside Türkiye, so the KVKK cross-border transfer rules (for example standard contracts and notifying the Authority) should be reviewed with your legal counsel.

How should we work out the total cost?

Multiplying the licence by the number of users is not enough. Add the billing term (monthly or annual), mandatory onboarding fees, add-ons (marketing, CPQ, AI), integrations, data migration and training, over at least two years.

When does moving from HubSpot to Salesforce make sense?

When the sales process starts to need many custom objects, complex approval and permission structures, regional teams and deep integration with other enterprise systems. If the problem is only the setup, auditing the current system first is cheaper.

Comparisons
  • Lead generation

Apollo.io vs Clay: which for B2B data and outbound?

Apollo suits sales teams that want to pull lists from a ready database, send sequences from the same tool and keep a predictable per-user cost. Clay suits teams that combine several data providers, research accounts with AI and build custom workflows into the CRM, and have the GTM engineering capacity to run them.

  • Lead generation

Apollo vs Lemlist: which one for outbound?

Apollo suits sales teams that want a large B2B database, enrichment and sequences in one tool to build their target list. Lemlist suits teams whose list is largely ready and who focus on personalised, multichannel sequences. In both, deliverability depends on your sending infrastructure.

  • Data and measurement

GA4 vs Mixpanel: marketing or product analytics?

GA4 fits marketing and acquisition analysis: traffic sources, campaign performance and the Google Ads integration. Mixpanel fits product analytics: what users do inside the product, cohorts and retention. Many SaaS companies use both side by side, with the same event names and user IDs in each tool.

  • GEO agency

GEO vs SEO vs AEO: the differences and when to use each

SEO gets a page ranking in search results; AEO structures the page so it answers a specific question directly; GEO aims to have the brand and the page chosen as a source in AI answers, off-site sources included. They are not alternatives: SEO is the foundation, and AEO and GEO build on it. Our GEO agency service runs all three.

  • Performance marketing

Google Ads vs Meta Ads: which channel, and when?

Google Ads fits when people already search for what you offer and you want to capture that demand. Meta Ads fits offers where demand does not exist yet, that can be shown visually and need to reach a broad audience. Most brands run both, and decide with qualified-lead and sales data from the CRM.

  • Performance marketing

Google Ads vs Microsoft Advertising: which one fits which business?

For almost any business selling to customers in Türkiye, Google Ads is the main search channel. Microsoft Advertising makes sense as a second channel for B2B companies that already run well-measured Google campaigns, sell into markets such as the US or UK, and want extra search volume for little extra work by importing those campaigns.

  • CRM consulting

HubSpot vs Zoho CRM: which one for B2B?

HubSpot suits B2B teams that want marketing automation, sales and service on one platform and put ease of use first. Zoho CRM suits companies that want to keep costs under control, customise extensively or use Zoho's wide family of apps. Decide on two-year total cost.

  • Data and measurement

Looker Studio vs Power BI: which reporting tool fits which team?

Looker Studio (called Data Studio again since April 2026) suits teams whose data lives in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console and BigQuery and who want marketing reports live quickly without licence fees. Power BI suits Windows-based companies whose data sits in Excel, SQL Server or Dynamics and who need a strong data model and DAX calculations.

  • Lead generation

Make vs n8n vs Zapier: which automation tool?

Zapier suits non-technical teams that want to start fast and use the widest set of ready-made app connections. Make suits teams building visually complex, multi-step flows. n8n suits teams that want technical flexibility, code steps and the option to self-host. Plan error handling for critical flows in any of them.

  • CRM consulting

Pipedrive vs HubSpot: which CRM for your sales team?

Pipedrive suits teams that want to run the pipeline in a simple interface, start fast and keep a predictable cost for the sales team alone. HubSpot suits B2B teams where marketing automation, content, forms and sales need to share the same data, and who want one platform from lead source to closed deal.

  • SEO

Semrush vs Ahrefs: choosing an SEO tool

Semrush suits marketing teams that want advertising, content and local marketing tools in the same package as SEO. Ahrefs suits SEO teams focused on link analysis and organic research. Both tools work with estimated data; the real data for your own site is in Search Console.
